MT. HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17

Mt. Hope Christian Academy

Established 1980
Principal: John J. Niehaus

Mt. Hope Christian Academy is a ministry of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, and is the fulfillment of the responsibility placed by God on His people to educate their children as in

  • Deuteronomy 6:5-7 "5. And thou shalt love the LORD they God with all thine heart, and with all they soul, and with all they might. 6. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine hear: 7. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."
  • Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
  • Acts 5:42 "And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to each and preach Jesus Christ."

A Christian school is an extension of the Christian home in training young people in a Christian environment for time and eternity.

Attendance at this school is a privilege and not a right. The goal of this school is not to reform, but to train Christian youth of every ability in the highest principles of Christian leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship.

SCHOOLBELLES DRESS CODE

SCHOOL COLORS
Red, white, and blue are not only patriotic, but scripturally the red represents the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, who made salvation possible. White is for the righteousness of the saints; blue is a symbol of royalty, and Christians are the children of the King of Kings!

SCHOOL GOVERNMENT
As an integral part of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, MHCA is subject to the same doctrinal statement and by-laws accepted by the church. The chain of command will be Pastor, Principal, Supervisors, and Monitors.

SCHOOL MASCOT
Eagle: "...they shall mount up with wings as eagles..." Isaiah 40:31

SCHOOL SCRIPTURE
"The word of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." Psalm 12:6-7

ACCREDITATION
Accreditation by a state governmental agency is an administrative mechanism designed as an attempt to attain uniform education for all children in government schools. It was established as a governmental means of causing local public school districts to meet what the state agencies determined to be minimum academic & facility standards. Accreditation teams, therefore, investigate and approve or disapprove facilities & curriculum according to the criteria developed by secular educational administrators who may not be Christians.

Accreditation of a private Christian school is not necessary for a graduate of that school to enroll in a college or university. Registrars of such institutions are interested in the academic merits of students, not in the name of their school of graduation. They evaluate each applicant's academic aptitude through nationally standardized tests. Mt. Hope does not seek accreditation, but does endeavor to provide the highest possible academic program and is certified with the state of Ohio as a non-chartered non-tax supported school. We are not chartered nor seek a charter from the state board of education because the truly held religious beliefs.

ADMISSION POLICY
Mt. Hope Christian is specifically for the continuing education of children of church families. Enrollment is open to children of parents that are active members of Mt. Hope Baptist Church who wish the Christian training of the home & church to be complimented in the school. Children outside Mt. Hope may be accepted when space permits, as long as a spirit of cooperation can be maintained in achieving the goal of working with the child.

MHCA is not a corrective institution. Do NOT enroll your child with the idea that we will reform him/her. ALL students are admitted on probation for t he first six weeks.
